OXFORD — The Granville Health System Foundation announced that the 2020 Ambulance Chase and Food Truck Rodeo will begin in the morning this year.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, at 11 a.m. in downtown Oxford.

The 10K Run, 5K Run, and 1-Mile Family Walk will be held in partnership with the Downtown Oxford Economic Development Corporation and offers everyone from serious runners to families a day of fun. The Food Truck Rodeo will be held at the finish line, where there will be live music by Pleasing Annie.

The Food Truck Rodeo will be open for the entire community beginning at 11 a.m. in the Littlejohn Street parking lot. There is no charge for admission to the rodeo and a variety of food trucks will be present.

Registration and packet pick-up for the activities will begin at 9:30 a.m. inside The Hub on Main, 100 Main Street, Oxford. Early packet pick-up is also available to pre-registered runners on Friday, March 6 from 4:30-6:30 pm at Tobacco Wood Brewing Company, at 117 Wall Street, Oxford.

The 10K competitive race begins at 11 a.m. on Main Street and continues along a certified course. All 10K runners must maintain a 12-minute-per-mile pace throughout the course.

The 5K competitive race begins at 11:20 a.m. on Main Street and continues along a certified course. The 5K Fun Run follows at 11:25 a.m. on Main Street. It is a great choice for participants and groups who are less concerned with their race time.

The 1-Mile Family Walk begins at 11:40 a.m. on Main Street.

The cost for the 10K is $40 pre-registered or $45 for same-day registration. The 5K events are $30 pre-registered or $35 for same-day registration. The 1-Mile Family Walk costs $20 pre-registered or $25 for same-day registration.

This price includes a race T-shirt for the first 350 registered runners and awards for the top finishers.
