CREEDMOOR — Jennifer Curry’s yard in the 900 block of Circle Drive has been named the September Yard of the Month by the city of Creedmoor.

A property full of impatiens, nandina bushes and variegated liriope give the home variations of inviting color. These are just a few of the reasons this yard was chosen as Yard of the Month. Other features that set the property apart from the competition are the lush hostas and architectural trees contributing to the varying heights of foliage along with a bright birdhouse prominently displayed in the shrubbery.

Curry will receive a $50 gift certificate to Southern States to assist in keeping her yard in showcase shape.

Throughout the summer, beautiful yards and proud gardeners in the community are recognized and rewarded through the program.

The next yard that will be spotlighted will be the Holiday Yard of the Month. Nominate your yard, or a neighbor’s yard, by Dec. 15 for consideration in the Holiday Yard of the Month contest.

Residents can submit their vote online at www.cityofcreedmoor.org/YOM. A nomination box will also be stationed at city hall beginning in November or mail the nomination to: Yard of the Month, Creedmoor City Hall, P.O. Box 765, Creedmoor, NC 27522.

More information is available at www.cityofcreedmoor.org/YOM or by calling 919-764-1013.
