CREEDMOOR — Frank Edward Parrott Jr. died Friday, April 26.
He was born Dec. 22, 1927 in Creedmoor to the late Frank Edward Parrott, Sr. and Gladys Peace Parrott. He graduated from Wilton High School, attended N.C. State College, and later joined the U.S. Navy where he worked in the post office on board the USS Yosemite in Maine. He then returned to Wilton and was employed with the U.S. Postal Service in Creedmoor for 35 years and retired in 1984.
He was a lifelong member of Banks United Methodist Church. He served for 24 years as treasurer and was a member of the Banks Choir.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30 at Banks United Methodist Church in Wilton. Rev. Ray Gooch and Rev. Mark Gustafson officiated. Following the internment, a reception was held in the fellowship hall of Banks United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, of 65 years, Ruth B. Parrott of the home; daughter, Lisa Parrott Howard (Woody) of Fuquay-Varina; daughter, Angela R. Parrott of Wake Forest; sister, Jenny Sue O'Brian of Durham; one grandchild, Ashley Marie Kiser (Tony) of Durham; and several nieces and nephew. He was preceded in death by his brother, Winston Peace Parrott.
Visitation was held prior to the service from 12:30-2 p.m. in the fellowship hall of the church and at other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Banks United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall Fund.
