Maegan Frederick, a math teacher at Granville Central High School, recently earned a national board certification.

“It really helps you develop and finesse your teaching strategies,” Frederick said, explaining why she sought certification.

Dedication to excellence does not stop at teachers. Senior Madison Brogden is in the top 10 percent of her class, saying she is proud of the work she has put into her education.

“The effort really pays off,” Brogden said. “Your grades and participation outside of academics will define your character more than your class rank will.”

Brogden plans to attend Western Carolina University. Brogden is an active member of student council, National Honors Society, and yearbook.

From the students to the teachers and everyone in between, people are willing to put in the work to ensure that Granville Central is the best it can be, whether that is through a national board certification or active involvement within the GCHS community.
