OXFORD — The Wake Forest Police Department said a man and woman wanted in connection to the theft of food from grocery stores were arrested in Granville County last week.

Police had earlier asked for the public’s help in identifying, then later locating, the suspects, identified as Alen Ray Ferrell and Ashley Jordan Kirkman.

They were both served warrants for conspiracy to commit larceny and two counts of misdemeanor larceny Sept. 26.

Farrell, 29, and Kirkman, 23, both live on Crawford Currin Road in Oxford. Their bond amounts were not available.

Police last week released two images of the couple at Target asking for help identifying the suspects. The images showed the couple pushing grocery carts full of food out of the store.

A police spokesman said the most recent incident happened Sept. 19 at Target on Retail Drive. The Lowes Foods on Capital Boulevard was also a victim, police said.
