Sheriff warns April firearm training could be noisy

The Granville County Sheriff’s Office will conduct its annual firearms qualifications on the weeks of April 6-9 and April 20-24 at the Sir Walter Raleigh Gun Club, 2507 Hester Road in Creedmoor.

During the week of April 6-9, training will begin at 8 a.m. and will end shortly after 5 p.m. For the week of April 20-24, training will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will end before 11 p.m.

The Granville County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Sir Walter Raleigh Gun Club, are making residents of the area aware of this training and of the increased noise it will generate, especially after daytime hours.

This training will be conducted in accordance with the guidelines set by the North Carolina Sheriff’s Education and Training Standards Commission. During this scheduled training exercise, county noise ordinances will not apply.
