CREEDMOOR — South Granville senior Josh Edwards will attend North Carolina Wesleyan and has committed to play baseball for the Bishops.
Edwards recently made his decision official, completing the paperwork in front of family and friends during a signing ceremony at the end of the baseball season.
Edwards said he visited the campus and liked what he saw.
“They have done some renovations and the campus is really nice. It is just large enough, but you still have the hometown feel,” he said. “The baseball facility is a nice, well-kept. I look forward to playing on that field.”
Edwards played in 49 games between his junior and senior seasons for South Granville. He finished his senior campaign with a .476 batting average for the Vikings. He had 16 RBIs, seven doubles and one home run this season.
Edwards was the primary catcher, but took to the mound on two occasions. He worked two innings and struck out four batters for South Granville.
Edwards added that he was thankful to be able to extend his baseball career and play at the collegiate level.
