STEM — Tally Ho First Baptist Church in Stem on Sunday recognized the Stem fire, EMS and police departments for their service to the community.

During the 11 a.m. service, the church thanked the men and women that serve in the organizations.

“It can be a thankless job. All people see is when you show up at their emergency to help,” Rev. Eddie Nutt, pastor of Tally Ho, said. “But you put in countless hours of trainings just to be able to show up. Thank you for your time, dedication and love for this community.”

Rev. Nutt then quoted John 15:13 from the Bible, saying, “‘Greater love has no one than this that one lays down his life for his friends.’” He then added, “Every time that you go out to a house fire, car accident or stop someone for a traffic violation, you are putting your life on the line for this community and this church greatly appreciates it.”

Each organization was presented with a plaque of gratitude and they shared in a covered dish lunch with the church.
