OXFORD — J.F. Webb will sport new logos this fall as part of a new look at the high school.
The Webb mascot/logo has evolved over time with the first Warrior mascot being described as a Native American warrior.
This changed after 2004 when Wally the futuristic Warrior was introduced. Wally quickly fell be the wayside in favor of the initials JFW.
The new mascot/logo still represents the strength and courage that has become synonymous with a Warrior. It also represents change and innovation.
“I believe it was important to the committee, especially the students, to move forward with a new mascot design that embodies the pride that we want all students and our community to have in J.F. Webb,” Amy Rice, principal of J.F. Webb, said. “We wanted a mascot and logo that students and athletes would proudly wear and promote.”
In addition to the logo change, the school is undergoing a transformation with a new HVAC system, new paint and furniture and security upgrades.
